What is New Semantics?

Thank you for your interest in this student language magazine!

This project, titled New Semantics, is a collection of student-written articles, narratives, or other writing or art pieces about foreign languages students know or have been exposed to. It also includes various interviews with language "experts" as well.

In the field of linguistics, semantics is the study of the meaning of words in a sentence, and having students discuss experiences using language certainly sheds light on more meanings of language. Hence, the title of this magazine, New Semantics.

The purpose of this magazine is to showcase the world’s diversity that can be found in our school, and it’s also to express a passion for the importance and the intricacies of language in communication around the world. We hope that through New Semantics, we can promote open-mindedness and expedite cross-cultural understanding.
